Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1/15/2026
TL;DR
I respect your privacy. This is a personal portfolio site, not a business. I use self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics to see which projects people find interesting. No tracking, no ads, no selling your data—ever.
What I Collect
Analytics (Optional - Requires Your Consent)
If you click "Sounds good!" on the cookie banner, I collect:
- Pages you visit
- How long you stay
- What device/browser you're using (basic info)
- Which projects you click on
What I DON'T collect:
- Your name, email, or any personal info
- Your exact location (IP addresses are anonymized)
- Tracking across other websites
- Anything that identifies you personally
Server Logs
Like most websites, my hosting provider may keep basic server logs (IP addresses, timestamps) for security purposes. These are automatically deleted after a short period.
How I Use This Data
Simple: to make this portfolio better. I want to know:
- Which projects get the most interest
- If people are actually reading my blog posts
- What content to focus on
- If the site is broken somewhere
That's it. I'm not selling anything, showing ads, or building user profiles.
Technology I Use
I use Umami Analytics—a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool. It's self-hosted on my own server, so your data never goes to Google, Facebook, or any third parties.
Umami doesn't use traditional cookies. Instead, it stores a simple preference in your browser's localStorage to remember your choice.
Your Rights & Choices
- Opt-out anytime: Click "No thanks" on the banner, or clear your browser's localStorage
- Change your mind: Clear localStorage and refresh the page to see the banner again
- Request deletion: Since I don't collect personal data, there's nothing to delete—but if you have concerns, contact me
- Access your data: The analytics are anonymous, so there's no "your data" to access
Third-Party Services
This site uses:
- Vercel for hosting (see their privacy policy)
- Self-hosted Umami for analytics (data stays on my server)
I don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any ad tracking.
Data Security
I take security seriously:
- HTTPS encryption for all connections
- Content Security Policy headers to prevent XSS attacks
- Regular security updates
- Self-hosted analytics (no third-party data leaks)
International Visitors
This site is hosted in the EU/US. If you're visiting from another region, your data (if you consent to analytics) will be processed there. Since everything is anonymized, this shouldn't be a privacy concern.
Children's Privacy
This site is a professional portfolio and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this policy occasionally. If I make significant changes, I'll update the date at the top. For minor tweaks, I won't notify you—this is a portfolio, not a SaaS product.
Questions?
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how I handle data, feel free to reach out via the contact form or email. I'm happy to answer!
The honest version: I'm a developer showing off my work. I genuinely care about privacy (it's why I built my own analytics instead of using Google's). If you don't want to be tracked, just click "No thanks" and you won't be. No hard feelings. 🙂
